BEIJING. While export prices are slowly stabilising, first trends regarding the cultivation distribution for the Chinese pumpkin seed sowing in 2021 were indicated.

Astronomical prices

Chinese pumpkin seed traders are satisfied with the contracts concluded in recent weeks, considering the rather weak demand this season. Many European buyers had meanwhile purchased contracts until June and suppliers have bought enough raw materials to be able to meet the planned deliveries. Farmgate prices have stabilised at a high level for the time being, while export prices are still following suit in some cases. No significant price fluctuations are expected in the coming months. Pumpkin seeds, GWS, grade A range between USD 3.35-3.53/k
