DALIAN. Demand for Chinese pumpkin seeds has picked up again recently. A smaller crop and difficulties with drying are likely to further reduce supply. Prices are showing a firming trend, particularly for high-quality goods.

The market for Chinese pumpkin seeds is initially expected to remain stable from late September to mid-October, with high-quality produce showing price strength. Purchasing activity has increased significantly following the concentrated arrival of the crop from Inner Mongolia and Gansu. At the same time, the supply of high-quality seeds from Xinjiang remains tight, as persistent rain has hampered sun-drying and affected the quality of the seeds.
