DALIAN. The risk of trading with pumpkin seeds is increasing every year. For some traders there is less harm is in holding on to their seeds than in selling them at the current prices.

The market is dead

The longer the current season lasts the more limited supplies of high quality seeds are becoming. Due to the high farmgate prices some suppliers have stopped selling their products and refuse to stock up for potential enquiries.

Demand continues on a very low level in China and market players do not expect to market to recover at any time soon. Many processors have either changed their recipes or resort to alternatives.
