Sesame seeds: Brazil to harvest up to 140,000 mt

NEW DELHI/BRASÍLIA. Despite the successful participation in the current sesame seed tender from South Korea, the pressure on prices in the Indian market is high. The summer crop is gradually arriving on the trading markets.

India wins bids for 5,800 mt

The sesame seed tender from South Korea negotiated at the end of last week has once again brought good business for Indian exporters. Two positions of 4,000 mt and 4,200 mt of sesame seeds were tendered and Indian traders were awarded 5,800 mt of the total 8,200 mt requested. Successful bids were between USD 1,879-1,890/mt. Suppliers from Pakistan were awarded a total of 1,800 mt at prices of USD 1,795-1,868/mt and an exporter from Togo was also able to secure a position of 600 mt for delivery to South Korea with a bid of USD 1,885/mt.&n
