NEW DELHI. The Korean tender has caused dismay. And to make matters worse, the new crop is causing additional difficulties.

Not enough demand

Korea has purchased a total of 6,000 mt, of which 4,200 mt stem from India and 1,800 from Africa. The official results are still to be published. This is not enough to boost market prices in India. Instead, prices have dropped further and landed at a 4-month low. The prices for sesame seeds, hulled, mechanically dried are lower than they have been since January. Meanwhile, the summer crop is also available on the market, increasing the price pressure, and at the same time, there is a lack of demand.
