NEW DELHI/ABUJA. Deliveries of the new crop are putting pressure on prices in Indian trading markets. Bolivian sesame seed exporters have almost doubled their overseas shipments in the first nine months of the year.

Falling prices in Indian trading markets

Despite reports of yield losses, abundant stocks due to the arrival of the new crop in the trading markets are leading to lower prices on the Indian sesame seed market. In Rajasthan, prices have fallen by USD 4.00-4.30/quintal. White sesame seeds are trading at USD 140.00-143.20/quintal in the major trading markets, while local varieties are trading at USD 113.20-114.70/quintal.
