Sesame seeds: El Niño to impact monsoon

NEW DELHI/ADDIS ABABA. India is only witnessing a temportary hike for sesame seeds. Sowing is up in Gujarat. Contradicting crop estimates are circulating in Ethiopia.

Less monsoon rain anticipated

Sesame is showing some activity this week. Yet, the Korean tender will only provide a temporary movement. Otherwise, there are no trade igniting factors. Furthermore, sowing is still progressing at a rapid pace in Gujarat. By the start of the week, farmers had already covered 135,151 ha, which is up on last year's 121,275 ha and the three-year average of 120,439 ha.
