NEW DELHI. Exporters in Africa have suceeded in securing the recently issued tender from South Korea. They supplied the most competitive prices.

India supplies as little as 2,700 metric tonnes

The tender was issued over 12,000 metric tonnes of unhulled sesame seeds. Although suppliers in China will ship 600 metric tonnes and suppliers in India 2,700 metric tonnes, these volumes fall well short of the shipments from Africa. Suppliers in Burkina Faso have won bids over 1,500 metric tonnes, in Niger over 1,200 metric tonnes and in Togo over 1,200 metric tonnes. In addition, 600 mteric tonnes will be shipped from Ethiopia.
