Sesame seeds: increased sowing puts pressure on the Indian market

NEW DELHI/BRASÍLIA. The lack of demand is affecting prices on the international sesame seed market. India’s Kharif sowing is above last year's level. Sesame seed exports from Brazil increased in July.

Sowing well ahead of schedule

The sesame seed tender from South Korea, announced for the first week of August, was expected to support prices on the international sesame seed market. It now appears that the tender, which was already delayed, will be postponed for a few more weeks, putting prices under pressure.
