Sesame seeds: Paraguay significantly increases exports

NEW DELHI/ASUNCIÓN. While domestic demand is rising in India, supply is becoming scarcer in Nigeria. Paraguay is exporting significantly more sesame seeds, while in India the export value has almost halved. The Chinese sesame seed market is quiet.

Lively domestic demand in India

Sesame seed prices on the Indian domestic market have picked up noticeably over the past three weeks. The situation is different for export prices, which have fallen slightly compared to last week. With winter business and the upcoming Makara Sankranti festival season in mind, demand in India could continue to rise, making price declines unlikely here.
