Sesame seeds: rainfall damages crop in Madhya Pradesh

SEOUL/NEW DELHI. Pakistan has secured a large share of the latest sesame seed tender. Rainfall has damaged the crop in Madhya Pradesh. Prices on the Indian market are coming under further pressure.

Pakistan awarded 63% of the total volume in the tender

The latest sesame seed tender organised by the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation concluded this week and was fully fulfilled. Of the 20,000 mt put out to tender for shipment, exporters from Pakistan were awarded the contract for 12,600 mt – more than half of the total – followed by Mozambique with 2,000 mt and Burkina Faso with 1,600 mt.
