NEW DELHI/ISLAMABAD. With the prospect of another sesame seed tender in the coming week, suppliers on the Indian trading markets are taking the opportunity to adjust their prices. However, the trend in the export market is different.

Hulled sesame seeds are becoming cheaper

The sesame seed crop in the Indian growing regions has had to contend with unfavourable weather conditions this season. This affected yields in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh as well as in Rajasthan and Gujarat. In the latter, commodity prices in the Bhavnagar and Saurashtra trading markets in particular have risen significantly following the announcement of another sesame seed tender from South Korea within a short space of time.
