Cumin

Cumin has seen a significant price increase of 5 to 6% over the past four weeks, and further increases are expected by the end of February next year – however, prices remain unchanged compared to last week. The main reasons for the increases are sharply declining arrivals in Rajasthan and Gujarat, which currently stand at only around 3,000 to 4,000 bags per day. In addition, neither traders nor farmers have significant stocks; relevant quantities are only held by a few wealthy farmers and stockists. Carry-over stocks are expected to reach only 1.5 to 1.8
