The price increases on the Indian cumin market that suppliers had hoped for have now materialized, although market experts are dampening the euphoric mood because they assume that the increases are only temporary. The later-sown crop is said not to meet expectations in terms of quality, and the yield has also been lower than hoped for. BRUSSELS. Although EU importers spent less on spices in 2025 than in the record year of 2024, the import value is still quite high as official statistics show. Record amounts were, in fact, spent on cardamom, fenugreek and spice mixtures, saffron and turmeric. Pepper tops the chart.
