GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market update from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli and cardamom and black pepper as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin seeds

Cumin has declined this week and ranges nearly 35 to 40 % lower than last year. With arrivals about to peak in March, price rises are out of the question. Local spot markets have started receiving the fresh production. Nearly 2,000 bags per day are entering the market in the state of Gujarat. Traders state that the quality is good, and that the moisture content is within limit. At present the whole market is waiting for a massive influx and rates to come down before buying will commence.

TEHRAN. Price movements were mixed in Iran in September with barberries, dates, saffron and raisins showing the most drastic changes in the annual comparison.
