Cumin

The cumin market is currently showing stagnating to slightly declining prices due to high arrivals of the new crop. Nevertheless, the outlook for the coming months is considered positive. Two key factors could stimulate trade: Firstly, despite its own rising production, China is expected to import larger quantities from India again this year after demand fell short of expectations last year. BRUSSELS. Although EU importers spent less on spices in 2025 than in the record year of 2024, the import value is still quite high as official statistics show. Record amounts were, in fact, spent on cardamom, fenugreek and spice mixtures, saffron and turmeric. Pepper tops the chart. While the year-to-year import value has risen for cinnamon, cloves and mace, the opposite is the case for capsicum, ginger and vanilla, cumin, nutmeg and coriander and curry.
