Spice market update: pepper crop is estimated to be lower this season

GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

After an initial upswing at the beginning of the week, with prices for grade A cumin climbing to USD 1,960/mt, prices have since fallen back to USD 1,950/mt. This is still well above last week's price of USD 1,930/mt FOB India. Stable demand is supporting the market, which is, however, being put under pressure by the increase in arrivals.

More and more new goods are arriving at markets in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and market players report good demand from both local customers and from
