The price increases hoped for by Indian cumin suppliers have not materialized; on the contrary, prices have fallen again compared to last week. The mandis are literally flooded with the new crop and as long as this influx continues, prices are likely to fall further. Local traders estimate that the peak phase will be over by mid-April.
