Cumin

Cumin prices have received further support this week, mainly due to delayed sowing in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Rainfall after Diwali has led to excessive soil moisture, slowing down field preparation and extending the sowing season. Market players see this as the reason for the price increases, and rising NCDEX futures also support this view. Prices on the mandis remain largely stable, however, suggesting that sufficient goods continue to reach the markets. The smaller acreage points to a possible shortage of long-term supply.
