GUYARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin seeds

Although the market has witnessed a nominal rise since last week, traders state that a better export performance is required to give the market a boost. Sowing is about to start in the main producing regions of Gujarat and Rajasthan. Rainfall has reportedly been good in the monsoon season and the farmers should have no problems at all. Cumin, Grade A, 99% is currently trading at USD 2.27 per kg FOB.

BRUSSELS. Although EU importers spent less on spices in 2025 than in the record year of 2024, the import value is still quite high as official statistics show. Record amounts were, in fact, spent on cardamom, fenugreek and spice mixtures, saffron and turmeric. Pepper tops the chart. While the year-to-year import value has risen for cinnamon, cloves and mace, the opposite is the case for capsicum, ginger and vanilla, cumin, nutmeg and coriander and curry.
