Although the quality of the goods from Rajasthan and Gujarat leaves much to be desired, export demand remains constant. There is a simple reason for this: other growing countries such as Afghanistan, Iran and Syria have hardly any cumin left in their warehouses and can only supply small quantities. So if traders are looking for a larger supply, they are forced to get it from India.
