Sugar turns sweeter

Good production and good monsoon.

The sugar output in India looks sweet in the next year 2017-18 as there are expectations of a better crop in huge quantity. With enough supply in the domestic market the need to import sugar to match the demand will vanish. Eventually affecting the global sugar market

 The total expectation of sugar production with good monsoon rains is 25 million tons.  In Maharashtra this year, there is a tremendous surge in sugarcane cultivation.

According to information received from the Ministry of Agriculture, the sugarcane area in Maharashtra has been recorded at 45 percent more than last year till May 31.
