MANISA/TEHRAN. Official production estimates and the farmgate prices have now been announced in Turkey. The pressure is on in Iran.

Great discrepancies in price

The official farmgate prices for type 9 officially at 4.00 TRY/kg. The producers, however, claim that these prices fall short of their costs. They demand a price of 6.00 TRY/kg. Since the crops were very large in Turkey in the last two years, namely 310,000 mt in 2017 and 330,000 mt in 2016, they buyers will hardly accept higher prices.

Average prices for sultanas, type 9, Grade A are expected to range at 1,350 USD/mt FOB Izmir. The offers for prompt deliveries vary greatly with suppliers demanding prices of 1,310
