MANISA/REUS. According to the latest report from the INC, global production of dried grapes is set to rise by 20%. Turkish sultana farmers may be in a bit too much of a hurry to harvest this year’s crop.

Global production to rise by 20%

The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council has published revised estimates for global production of dried grapes in the latest July issue of its NutFruit Magazine. After Turkey faced disappointing harvest results for three years running, the outlook for this year’s crop could hardly be any better. According to the INC, a production of 290,000 mt is expected, which would already represent a massive increase of 77% compared with last year.
