Sultanas: INC forecast with slight decline

MANISA/PALMA. The congress of the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council took place last week from 8-10 May in Palma, Spain. The production estimates for the 2025/2026 season were also discussed. Meanwhile, growers have raised the bar for organic prices for the coming season.

Global production expected to decline by 5.4%

A full assessment of the damage caused by the frosty nights in mid-April in the Turkish sultana-growing regions is still pending. Significant discrepancies in the unofficial production estimates, which ranged between 130,000 mt and 200,000 mt, were already noticed last week. During the congress of the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council, which took place from 8-10 May in the Majorcan capital Palma, production estimates of 220,000 mt were published.
