MANISA/PALMA. The congress of the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council took place last week from 8-10 May in Palma, Spain. The production estimates for the 2025/2026 season were also discussed. Meanwhile, growers have raised the bar for organic prices for the coming season.

Global production expected to decline by 5.4%

A full assessment of the damage caused by the frosty nights in mid-April in the Turkish sultana-growing regions is still pending. Significant discrepancies in the unofficial production estimates, which ranged between 130,000 mt and 200,000 mt, were already noticed last week.
