MANISA. Growers in Turkey have begun drying their grapes. At the same time, they are calling on the state authorities to finally announce the base prices.

Sultana production has begun

Temperatures in the Turkish province of Manisa are still extremely high, with daytime temperatures continuing to reach 40°C. In large parts of the country, farmers have now begun drying Sultana grapes, benefiting from the warm and dry weather. However, farmers continue to report that yields are significantly lower than usual due to frost damage in April. The regions where organic grapes are grown for sultana production have been particularly hard hit.
