MANISA. In Turkey, growers have started drying the grapes. However, due to the unfavourable circumstances of the past weeks, massive losses in yields are to be expected.

Sultana production has started

The hot temperatures of the past few days of more than 40°C are now being followed by somewhat cooler days in Turkey with temperatures of around 34°C. No rain is forecast yet and ideally this will remain the case for the next two to three weeks until the end of the drying period, as rainfall could have a negative impact on quality and yield.
