MANISA. The anticiapted price rise for organic sultanas has so far failed to materialise in Turkey. Due to the Anuga trading was largely subdued last week. The market is still waiting for official production estimates to be issued.

Slowdown in exports

Trading was largely subdued in Turkey last week due to the Anuga, the leading global trade fair for food and beverages in Cologne. Turkey exported as little as 5,344 mt of seedless dried raisins last week, wich ranges much lower than the 6,532 mt shipped overseas in the same week last year. Total exports are now lagging behind last year.
