Sultanas: New prices after Eid al-Adha

MANISA. After a turbulent start to the week, the situation in Turkey has calmed down somewhat and traders are still maintaining last week's sultana prices.

TMO still prefers not to intervene
Last Friday, the Turkish Minister of Agriculture visited the main cultivation region for sultanas in Manisa. A base price for this year's sultana production was again not announced as he said it was not necessary for the time being. The current raw material price for type 9 is 7.00 TRY/kg, while it was 3.70-4.00 TRY/kg around this time last year. Only if prices risk falling for 2018's produce will the TMO attempt to regulate the market by making intervention purchases.
