MANISA. Producers are looking forward to some rain in Turkey. Manisa’s seedless sultana grape is in the processes of gaining EU recognition as a heritage product. Exports have slumped by 20%.

Rain is good news

Although not much, Turkey has witnessed some rain. While snowfall has been reported in the Eastern and Marmara regions, the higher areas of Manisa have seen very little precipitation. Manisa has entered a rainy period this week after temperatures dropped below zero. However, temperatures are expected to drop again as of next week. Current forecasts state that temperatures will range at 3-10C (37-50F) at night and 14-19C (57-66F) at day this week.
