Sultanas: Tariş to announce a price

MANISA. Stakeholders in Manisa have closely followed the earthquake occurring in the neighbouring Sındırgı district of Balıkesir at the weekend. Farmers, who are confronted with high expenses due to the frost that struck in spring, are still waiting to receive insurance payments. Tariş will announce a purchase price for raisins.

Earthquake, heat and extensive costs

On Sunday, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck in the a neighbouring province of Manisa, killing one person and injuring 29, as Reuters reports. As many as 16 buildings collapsed. No damages have been reported in Manisa, where the weather continues to be hot with nighttime temperatures of 23-25C (73-77F) and daytime temperatures of 37-40C (99-104F).
