Sunflower seeds: bakery kernels as expensive as in 2015

SOFIA. In the Ukraine, sunflower seed prices are at a record level and Bulgarian bakery kernels also know only one way to go: upwards.

Difficult market situation

At around UAH 13,000/kg, Ukrainian farmgate goods are more expensive than ever, but for foreign buyers this increase is mitigated by the strong euro. Bulgarian bakery kernels are following this example. The few suppliers who offer prompt shipment charge prices of up to EUR 0.92/kg DDP Germany - the last time prices reached such a high level was in August 2015.
