SOFIA/DALIAN. The Bulgarian sunflower seed market remains sluggish. Turkey has rejected shipments from Argentina. EU countries have increased their imports of sunflower seeds from third countries by more than 70% this season.

Little movement in Bulgaria

The Bulgarian sunflower seed market is currently relatively stagnant. There is hardly any produce left suitable for hulling, while demand remains subdued due to high price levels. For now, it is a case of waiting and seeing. July and August are the decisive months for the final harvest outcome.
