Sunflower seeds: Exports to rise by 11%

KIEV. The general weakness in the international oil market coupled with sufficient availability and decreased demand, have resulted in falling prices for Ukrainian sunflower oil.

 

Current figures
In mid-June 2018, the FOB bid prices for crude sunflower oil (delivery July/August) were at 720-722 USD/mt, around 40 USD/mt less than around this time last year.

At the beginning of this month, the sunflower seed stocks in the Ukraine were estimated at 1.8 million mt, a decrease of more than 13% compared to last year. According to figures provided by the Ukrainian statistical office, Ukrainian oil mills produced 2.17 million mt of crude sunflower oil between January and May 2018, which is a decline of 11.5% compared to the same
