SOFIA. The weather has been quite unforgiving for producers in Bulgaria. First, the sowing was delayed due to precipitation and now parts of the country are suffering from dry conditions.

Prompt deliveries starting at 645 EUR/mt
Market participants report that farmers partly have to sow their fields again, as the seeds failed to grow due to a lack of precipitation. As a result, the situation on the Bulgarian sunflower seed market is tense, and new crop production still unknown.

The price for raw black seeds, in shell, 96% purity have increased to 317 EUR/mt CPT Varna this week. This trend is set to continue. Offers for the prompt deliveries of bakery kernels have also increased, and there are virtually no seeds available at price
