SOFIA/KYIV. After initial delays, Ukrainian growers now want to complete the current sowing season as quickly as possible. According to the WASDE report, global production is expected to increase by 8.3% in the 2025/2026 season.

EU production expected to rise by 17.2%

The US Department of Agriculture published its latest WASDE report (World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates) at the beginning of this week, in which the first official forecasts for the 2025/2026 season were also presented. Global sunflower seed production is expected to rise to 56.22 million mt in the coming season, which would be an increase of 8.3% compared to last year.
