SOFIA. The Eastern European market is witnessing some movement. Several containers of sunflower seeds and sunflower oil are currently being loaded in Bulgaria.

Record low

Just in time before the temperatures dropped the fields were covered in snow. Cold temperatures are also forecasted over the next few days.

With several containers about to be loaded in Bulgaria the market has witnessed nominal price increases. Black in shells, 96% are presently trading for 289 EUR/mt CPT Varna. Other impulses, which could give the market a lift, are, however, lacking, which is why the trend is not expected to last.

Subdued demand, the strong Euro big crops and a slowdown to processing continue to pressurise
