SOFIA/DALIAN. Due to pesticide residues, the first shipment of Argentine sunflower seeds is reportedly not suitable for the EU. The war in Iran has also caused prices to rise again after an initial decline.

The first shipment of Argentine sunflower seeds recently arrived at the port of Varna. As a result, raw material prices initially fell, but have since risen again due to the war in Iran. Prices for bakery kernels are currently at a level of EUR 970/kg FCA Bulgaria, with raw materials trading at EUR 500-510/mt CPT Varna.
