Sunflower seeds: Prompt deliveries are becoming more expensive

SOFIA. Market players are questioning the actual level of raw seed supplies in the Bulgarian sunflower seed market and there is also disagreement on the production estimates for 2018.

 

Prices for the new crop are also rising
The prices for black sunflower seeds, in the shell, 96% purity, have increased to 327 EUR / mt CPT Varna since last week. Market players, however, report that the actual spot market price for raw seeds has now almost reached 335 EUR/mt FCA.

Bakery kernels, for prompt delivery are only offered to a limited extent. Customers already have to pay 670 EUR/mt DDP Germany for Eastern European kernels. The new crop prices continue to trend upwards, and traders hardly provide offers for under 655 EUR/mt DDP Germany
