SOFIA/KYIV. All eyes are on the new crop, and trading activity has slowed. EU imports continued to decline during the first few weeks of the 2026/2027 import season.

Weak market conditions

As is to be expected at this time of year, the sunflower seed market remains subdued. The limited availability of raw materials as the season draws to a close, coupled with persistently high price indications, is dampening buying interest, while all eyes are on the fields in the producing countries. The weather over the coming weeks will determine whether the EU crop can make a noticeable recovery following the slump of recent years.
