The attacks on Ukrainian ports and port infrastructure in January 2026 led to a short-term price shock and trade disruptions. However, according to experts at UkrAgroConsult, this did not have a lasting impact on the industry's processing capacities. Access to functioning ports remains crucial for further market development, as alternative transport routes cannot replace sea transport, which would result in more raw materials being exported instead of sunflower oil.
