KYIV/SOFIA. Sunflower seed farmers in Ukraine are still busy sowing. So far, a significantly smaller acreage has been sown than this time last year.

Sowing for the 2025 Ukrainian sunflower seed crop is still in full swing. So far, 4.351 million hectares have been sown, which corresponds to 86% of the planned acreage. This time last year, 4.958 million hectares or 94% of the planned area had already been sown. Meanwhile, the downward trend in bid prices for Ukrainian sunflower seeds continues, with bid prices falling by UAH 200-300/mt compared to last week.
