Walnuts: US crop already above last year

SACRAMENTO. The US walnut crop has already exceeded last year's result and currently it looks as if expectations can be largely met.

Record crop within reach

According to California Walnuts, by 31 October 2020, about 622,352 mt of walnuts in shell from the new crop had been registered, compared to only 529,070 mt at the same time last year. The official forecasts predict a total walnut production of 707,000 mt, which would be an increase of 20% compared to last year.
