Almonds: No guarantee of good quantities

SACRAMENTO. In January, fewer arrivals of US almonds were registered than expected, but the quantity still exceeds January figures for the last four years.

Little by little, 2017's almond production is reaching the US market. In January 2018, a quantity of 15,876 mt, or 35 million lbs, was registered, bringing the current production output to a total of 1.017 million mt. While it is true that the expectations of market participants could not be fulfilled, it should be noted that January figures in the last four years were below even 30 million lbs (13,608 mt).
