Almonds: highly profitable year

MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Market players in Spain are highly satisfied with last year’s performance. The prices for US almond preparations have shifted notably. California Almonds is set to issue the position report for December on 10 January.

Optimistic market in Spain

Market players in Spain have reaped large profits in 2019. Although spot market prices have largely flatlined over the last few weeks with only nominal changes observed in Albacate, Reus and Murcia, it should be noted that prices have risen sharply since last year. Most notably, organic almonds are trading EUR 2.00 per kg higher than one year ago and were last quoted in Murcia at EUR 8.68 per kg. The prices for Largueta, Valencia and Marcona almonds have also risen by more than EUR 1.00 per kg since last year.
