Almonds: Import prices to Germany have risen

CANBERRA/BRUSSELS. The Almond Board of Australia has recorded a minor decline in exports. Meanwhile, the May import prices have risen in Germany.

 

Drop in exports from Australia

Total exports from Australia have declined by 0.73% to 5,549 mt in the first two months of the current season (March to April). Last year, the country shipped 5,590 mt. Whereas shipments to the US have more than doubled to 391 mt, shipments to all other regions have declined. Exports to Europe have dropped by 23%, from 1,292 to 1,000 mt. The most important buyers within Europe are Spain (216 mt), Germany (172 mt) and Switzerland (109 mt).
