MADRID. The farmers in Spain are anything but delighted about the spot market in Reus being closed for the summer break. With arrivals being low they...

... could achieve good prices. Instead, the spot market will remain closed over the next four weeks. Problem is that supplies will  be much higher at this time meaning lower profits for the farmers. Media in Spain, moreover, report that studies have shown that almonds have on average been trading EUR 0.33 per kg lower than in Murcia over the last ten years. For organic almonds, the difference is even said to beEUR  0.42 per kg.

Revised production estimates

Last week, official production estimates for almonds without shell were revised upwards
