Strong international demand

As several stakeholders report prices have risen steadily for almonds in the US and Spain since the end of July. One driver were the tight transition supplies in California. In addition, cold weather along with rain and thunderstorms have delayed harvesting and receipts are down. With international demand expected to be strong in the next few months as India intends to lift the tax burden for almonds, Ramadan will be celebrated early, and the industry is gearing up for Christmas and New Year in Europe anticipation is that prices will remain elevated.
