MADRID. The new year did not herald in a positive turnaround for the Spanish almond market. Farmers as well as producers are not looking forward to 2018 at all.

Discontented sellers
Spanish almond prices continue to stabilise or drop this week, depending on the variety. Good production figures and increasing imports from California continue to put pressure on the market. Spanish almond suppliers were faced with disenchanting Christmas sales, and prices are lower than they have been for a long time.
