Blue poppy seeds: Czech Statistical Office confirms crop losses

CHRUDIM. The Czech blue poppy seed suppliers are exercising restraint, while at the same time the Czech Statistical Office has published adjusted production estimates.

The European blue poppy seed production has completely collapsed this year and alternatives are currently not to be found. This year Chinese farmers have reportedly only grown white poppy for morphine production and the market is under tremendous strain.
